At Hell’s Gate, 15 minutes from Rotorua, you can explore steaming mud pools and waterfalls on a guided or self-guided walk, try Māori carving, then enjoy a 20-minute mud bath, sulfur spa, and cool plunge pool. Guides such as Liam, Tee, Zia, and Ngati bring strong cultural storytelling when available.

Travel from central Sofia to Rila Monastery for frescoes, mountain views, and Mekitsa pastries, then spend about two hours at Sapareva Banya’s indoor and outdoor thermal pools. English-speaking guides such as Philippe, Ivan, and Mihail lead the day, with audio guides available in six languages.
“Good day trip from Sofia. We struggled a bit finding the location (didn’t realise a giant bus was the meeting point). This was one downside: while the description said 8-18 people, we were in a group of 50, which was not what we thought we’d signed up for. Anyhow, the tour guide was super! Very kind and informative. It was good to have the audio guide on our phones. Rila monastery is a must see. Cafes there are good for Bulgarian breaky. The baths were as described by others, nice addition but a bit rundown. Was an extra 20€ per person, plus cash for deposits. Make sure you bring cash…”
At Hells Gate, 15 minutes from central Rotorua, you’ll coat your skin in warm geothermal mud, rinse off, then relax in sulphur pools with no rush after the timed mud bath. Add the outdoor reserve walk if time allows. Bring old swimwear, or rent towels and clothing on site.

Travel from Sofia to UNESCO-listed Rila Monastery with an English-speaking guide, then choose the National History Museum, monastery museum, Saint John’s Cave, or a mineral spa. Expect mountain scenery, about two hours each way, limited lunch choices, and a small-group format when available.

Travel from Calgary to Banff in a small, air-conditioned vehicle with a guide such as Aashish, Arun, or Sanjeet. You’ll ride the Banff Gondola, visit the Upper Hot Springs, stop at Bow Falls and three mountain lakes, and have free time on Banff Avenue. Gondola and hot spring admission cost extra.
“My first Impression, Sanjeet and Sandu both are good teams, they provide good customer service, friendly and accommodating. As our tour guide both are knowledgeable of the national history of the parks and answered questions to the best they can. The Van was clean and not smelly and the ride was great!!
