This is the shortlist you would send a friend: 9 train experiences worth the money, each with its price, its traveller verdict and the one thing to know before you commit.
Take the official Corcovado Train up through Tijuca National Park to Christ the Redeemer. You get the train admission and monument access, but no guide. Allow a day, bring your passport or ID, and book an early time if you want fewer crowds.

Join an English- or Spanish-speaking leader from La Spezia Cruise Terminal or the central station. Ride local trains to Riomaggiore, Manarola, Vernazza, and Monterosso, with free time for photos, food, shops, and the beach. Guides such as Lara help keep the group on track.

This five-hour Ushuaia outing combines the End of the World Train with Tierra del Fuego National Park’s best-known sights. Expect bilingual guides such as Martina, Aileen, or Jacky, hotel pickup, short walks, photo stops, and a visit to Argentina’s southernmost post office. The park fee is extra.

Walk 4 to 5 km through Plitvice Lakes with a local guide, visiting the upper and lower lakes, viewpoints, waterfalls, and a 15-minute boat ride. Guides such as Samantha, Christian, Angelo, and Bethsy add useful park and Croatia context. Park entry costs extra in cash.

Travel by historic train from Williams to the South Rim, with a Wild West shootout, onboard musicians, train robbery, and about three hours at the canyon. Choose coach or first class. First class adds larger seats, wider windows, refreshments, and at-seat cocktail service.

Ride the Grand Canyon Railway from Williams to Grand Canyon Village and back in about nine hours. Expect vintage cars, western musicians, cowboy characters, onboard snacks, and roughly three and a half hours at the South Rim. First class adds larger seats and complimentary refreshments.

Spend about six hours riding Ushuaia’s End of the World Train, touring Tierra del Fuego National Park, and visiting bays, lakes, viewpoints, and the southernmost post office. The bilingual guide, hotel pickup, and compact group make this a useful first look at the region, though park admission costs extra.

Visit Christ the Redeemer by cog train and Sugarloaf Mountain by cable car in a four-hour self-guided outing. You receive official attraction tickets, but arrange your own transport, food, drinks, and timing. Bring your passport or ID and check both ticket emails carefully.

Spend up to 12 hours with a guide such as Martina or Jacqueline, riding the End of the World Train, visiting Lapataia Bay and Ensenada Zaratiegui, then sailing past sea lions, birds, penguins, and Les Éclaireurs Lighthouse.
